this campaign to boycott MSNBC advertisers until Chris Matthews apologizes for rhetorically linking Osama bin Laden and Michael Moore is utter horseshit. Will this help Matthews get ratings?
AMERICAblog, Atrios, Daily Kos, MyDD and a slew of other blogs are all in a tizzy because Matthews mouthed off on Hardball that Bin Laden's rhetoric about elites and "war merchants" being the only ones to benefit from the "hundreds of billions" spent on war on terror made him sound like he was an "an over-the-top Michael Moore."
Despite what's claimed at the Open Letter to Chris Matthews, what the bobble-head blowhard is doing here is not comparing "Americans concerned about the war in Iraq to Osama bin Laden." He's noting a shift in bin Laden's language that strikes him as reminiscent of incendiary things Moore has said.
