Another Guilty Plea in the Chicago Corruption Scandal

The Chicago Sun-Times reports on the growing scandal in Chicago.Check out the background of the newest scam artist to plead guilty:
Cannatello grew up in Bridgeport, where his father was a precinct captain for the 11th Ward, the political base for the Daley family. Cannatello maintained those ties to the Daley organization, even after his family moved to the suburbs where Cannatello was Palos Township Democratic committeeman for a decade.

Cannatello, a high school dropout, was a barber and a city truck driver before becoming a political power broker.

After he was the first suburban Democratic political committeeman to endorse John Stroger for Cook County board president in the mid-1990s, Stroger gave him a sweetheart job of forest preserve maintenance supervisor. The attraction of the job was that you never had to be anywhere at any specific time, a county official said.

Cannatello retired from the forest preserve job in 2001. He is collecting four government pensions.
Could we make this up? That's the Chicago Way.
