Google is expanding its already ambitious efforts to organize all the world's information with the launch of a service today that allows people to upload a wide array of content to a central database so others can find it.
The free Google Base service at http://base.google.com
will accept just about any type of content from anyone, from recipes and events information to large batches of job listings compiled by classified-ad companies such as CareerBuilder.com.
The service -- first discovered and reported on in October -- is a further sign that Google intends to extend its reach beyond the billions of Web pages in its sophisticated search engine.
