You may or may not know that the S.F. Chronicle has decided to hire Robert Scheer who was recently fired by the L.A. Times. Also, you may or may not know that Robert is the husband of Deputy Chron Editor, Narda Zachino. Narda appears on the hierarchy chart just below Managing Editor, Rosie Rosenthal. Why can't the San Francisco Chronicle find a person of "color" instead of the same old tired white democratic socialist? Robert Sheer is a big believer in affirmative action shouldn't he give up his job which he just got by nepotism???
It was easy to predict that the Chron would pick up Scheer after he was dumped by the L.A. Times. Actually, it was about as predictable as dial-a-quotes Bruce Cain appearing in an Ah-Nold bashing "Monica" Marinucci political story, or Joe Garafoli giving us times, directions and maps to the next Cindy Sheehan protest.
Nonetheless, the hiring of Robert Scheer was a bad move by the Chronicle. First off, there the requisite "conflict of interest" with Deputy Editor Narda Zachino. (Don't think for a minute ol' Robert won't be suggesting editorial directions for the Chronicle during their pillow talk) Its more or less just reverting to type.
