Key witness for feds pleads guilty

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
In the swirl of Hired Truck corruption and City Hall hiring scams, Daniel Katalinic was in the thick of things.

While Katalinic was a deputy commissioner at the Streets and Sanitation Department, he recruited city workers into a political army he formed at the request of Mayor Daley's patronage chief. In return for their vote-getting, Katalinic went to the Mayor's Office of Intergovernmental Affairs to get promotions or raises for the top election workers in his army of 200 people.

Katalinic, 54, also pocketed at least $15,000 in bribes from low-level city worker John "Quarters" Boyle to help Hired Truck companies get work from Streets and Sanitation.
Many of these workers helped Mayor Daley and Rahm Emanuel in their campaigns. Both "claim" they know nothing.
