Illinois Governor To Sign Onto a Giant Expansion in Government Spending

CBS TV Chicago reports that Illinois will get a huge increase in government spending:
Governor Rod Blagojevich plans to sign his "All Kids" health insurance measure into law today.

The governor billed the plan as a way to guarantee that every Illinois child has health insurance.

"All Kids" targets children whose families make too much money to qualify for free government health care but still can't afford private insurance. Families will be able to buy government insurance at a price based on their income.
This is the same state that has the largest underfunded public pension system in the nation.
