Boise State University Considers Eliminating Smoking On Campus

The AP reports:
Officials at Idaho's Boise State University are considering snuffing out cigarettes everywhere on campus.

In a cabinet meeting today, officials are discussing a smoking ban everywhere on the 175-acre campus.

The university already bans smoking in all buildings and it has
one smoke-free entrance to each building.

But the head of health services, Ferdinand Schlapper, wants a complete ban.

He'd also like ``to eradicate this from the planet.''

Schlapper says high achieving students would be ``drawn'' to a
healthier learning environment.

But he says a poll he conducted of the university's faculty, students and staff shows only about 34-percent support his idea.

The government wants to tell you what to do.Maybe apartment buildings will be next, then condo buildings, then if you have children living with you.Who knows where this could lead. Will fat people be next to be attacked since they drive up health costs? Will the government force fat people to go to the gym and cut out sugar and butter from their diet? Or maybe it might be time to question subsidizing dairy farmers?
