Bears Defensive Lineman Sentenced On Gun Charge

CBS TV Chicago reports:
Chicago Bears defensive lineman Terry "Tank" Johnson has been sentenced to 18 months probation and 40 hours community service after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge.

Johnson originally faced a felony charge after Chicago police found a loaded 9 mm handgun in the vehicle he was driving outside a city nightclub in June.

Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Tom Stanton said Johnson pleaded guilty Tuesday to misdemeanor unlawful use of a weapon and also must pay a $2,500 fine.

Johnson was arrested about 3 a.m. June 11 after a valet at a nightclub in the city's near North Side area flagged an officer down and reported seeing Johnson move a handgun from his lap to the center console of his sport utility vehicle.
In Chicago, you don't have the right to own a gun.Pretty amazing stuff since according to Article 1 Section 22 of the Illinois state constitution allows you to own a gun.
