Bad Football Team Helps Green Bay Economy

Bloomberg reports:
The worst start in 19 years for the National Football League's Green Bay Packers has transformed the plumbing aisle at Home Depot Inc. in Grafton, Wis. Rather than spend Sundays watching their beloved team lose, Wisconsinites have become fans of home repairs.

"We've seen a 30 percent jump in store traffic the last three Sundays compared to the start of the Packer season," says Dave Voss, 28, an assistant manager.
Well so much for the notion of taxpayers financing a pro sports team because it helps the local economy.
