Canadian Teachers' strike: Special prosecutor appointed

The National Post reports:
The legal heat is being turned up on B.C.'s 38,000 illegally striking teachers, with the appointment of a special prosecutor.

A news release by the B.C. Criminal Justice Branch says Vancouver lawyer Leonard Doust will review the teachers' continued defiance of a court order to get back to the classroom.

He will also consider whether to initiate criminal contempt proceedings against the union.

The appointment was made after sympathetic unionists shut down transit services in Victoria and Nanaimo in advance of a major protest rally at the B.C. legislature.
Aren't monopolies just great? What about the children? Don't the unions care?
