Fewer Americans cross Canadian borders

The Windsor Star reports:
Windsor's hospitality and retail industries were hit with "scary" news Tuesday when Statistics Canada revealed the number of same-day car travellers from the United States tumbled to its lowest monthly number on record.

In July, 1.9 million Americans crossed the border on same-day car trips, the smallest number (not seasonally adjusted) since records were first kept in 1972. It equals a seven per cent drop from June and a 9.5 per cent drop compared to July 2004.
The high tax lifestyle isn't for everyone.
