Windsor's hospitality and retail industries were hit with "scary" news Tuesday when Statistics Canada revealed the number of same-day car travellers from the United States tumbled to its lowest monthly number on record. The high tax lifestyle isn't for everyone.
In July, 1.9 million Americans crossed the border on same-day car trips, the smallest number (not seasonally adjusted) since records were first kept in 1972. It equals a seven per cent drop from June and a 9.5 per cent drop compared to July 2004.
