Fernando Ferrer wants to add 25,000 government workers

The New York Post reports Democratic candidate for Mayor Fernando Ferrer wants to make government bigger:

Fernando Ferrer was mum yesterday about whether he backed a $1 billion plan to put thousands of private health-care workers on the city payroll to win the support of a politically powerful union.

Local 1199 will endorse Ferrer today, after Mayor Bloomberg told union leaders last week that he wouldn't bow to their terms because it would blow a massive hole in the city budget.
