Chicago School Ends Early After Numerous Fights Break Out

CBS TV Chicago is reporting not all is well on the supposed great urban comeback, especially in the public schools:
Students were sent home early from a South Side high school after a series of fights broke out in the cafeteria and spread throughout the school, police said.

Calumet Career Preparation Academy was hosting hundreds of displaced juniors and seniors from Chicago Vocational Career Academy after a power outage forced the school to close for the rest of the week.

Police were called to the school at about 10:30 a.m. Officers called for backup because so many students were involved, police said.
A truly great moment in Chicago public education.
