The L.A.Daily News reports more affordable inland California areas are growing:
Soaring housing prices have driven Californians farther inland - but not out of the state - with four interior metropolitan areas among the 10 fastest growing in the nation, according to a study released today.
The shift propelled the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario area into the nation's second-fastest growing spot, with an increase of 15.7 percent from 2000 to last year, according to the study of U.S. Census data by the Washington, D.C.-based Brookings Institution.
The Las Vegas-Paradise metro area led the nation with an 18.5 percent increase in population, while the nation's fourth-fastest population growth was in Stockton. The Sacramento area ranked ninth, and Bakersfield tenth.
