L.A. County Doctors Lie

The L.A. Daily News
tells us that L.A. County doctors lie:
A confidential audit found that nearly half of Los Angeles County's public doctors made honest mistakes or cheated on their timecards, prompting Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich to propose auditing the records of all 90,000 county employees.

The survey of 86 of the county's 1,200 doctors found that the dates and times recorded on 47 percent of their timecards conflicted with staffing schedules, said Antonovich, who said he plans to ask today for a similar review of the entire county work force.

The surveyed doctors work at all county hospitals, including nine at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar and seven at High Desert Health System in Lancaster.

"It could mean multimillions of dollars in losses of services expected to be performed by those physicians," Antonovich said Monday. "It indicates timecard abuse. There could be honest mistakes, or there could be fraud.
Do you think going to "socialized" medicine will make things better? This is a great moment in statist medicine.
