trying to regulate (or even drive out of business) gun manufacturers through tort litigation is a bad idea. Even if one can make arguments about the legal liability or moral responsibility of gun manufacturers, those arguments are trumped by basic democratic theory. For better or worse, this country has made a lasting and seemingly durable judgment that firearms should be available to the public with little or no restriction. If we disagree, we should try to change the law.Changing laws,isn't the issue for many,it's a constitutional right that's in the federal and many state constitutions.
