Could Italy be first to ditch euro and bring back its old currency?

Talk in Italy about dropping the Euro is picking up steam.
A Chain of supermarkets in Italy has enjoyed a surge in business after pledging to accept the lira alongside the euro, cashing in on the growing popular resentment over the single currency.

The shops in Tuscany reported a boom in sales after an advertising campaign declaring that they will accept the old Italian currency. Italian newspapers have pictured beaming shop assistants holding up posters declaring, “Welcome back, lira”. It may be a retailer’s publicity stunt, but the fear of European authorities is that the supermarket could prove to be a sign of things to come.
