A proposed Costco near the Chicago Bears training facility in Lake Forest took a major hit when officials would not zone the property for such a big store.

With opposition still growing, the city's Plan Commission voted 4-3 last week against the project, which would be the first of its kind in Lake Forest.

"I have a problem with the large white box concept, so I just can't support this," Commissioner Tim Christie said.
