California Democrats Propose Income Tax Hike

Democrats in the high tax state want more money out of certain Californians:

Democrats announced the idea of an income tax hike on single taxpayers earning more than $143,000 a year and couples earning more than $285,000 as part of their alternative to the $115.7-billion budget drafted by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. His proposed spending plan would withhold billions of dollars schools are owed under voter-approved funding guarantees that he and the Legislature suspended last year.

If you'll notice the L.A.Times article doesn't mention the new percentage that the so called wealthy will have to pay.Just an oversight?$143,000 isn't really even enough of an income to buy a median home price in San Diego.The Democrats say you are rich but you can't afford the median home price on one income.LA Times
