The Liberal Project

Paul Starr, one of the founders of the American Prospect, says the future of liberalism should be spending more money on young people. In future budget battles, it's difficult to see how young people are going to get more resources from the government while Social Security and Medicare takes even more money.Starr also claims the American Prospect was founded because The Nation was too out of the mainstream and the New Republic was too centerist.Eventually,The American Prospect hired Harold Meyerson of the Democratic Socialists of America as an editor. How about that for mainstream? The American Prospect.
