Comrade Robert Kuttner Blames Republicans For High College Tuition

The Huffington Post has a new column from Comrade Robert Kuttner. Comrade Kuttner seems to think the Republican party is responsible for the higher education ripoff:

The entire premise that students should borrow large sums to attend college was horrible policy; it was never debated directly. Republicans are more responsible, because their budget cutting at the federal and state level shifted public financing onto tuition and fees. But both parties have colluded in the basic premise that borrowing to pay for college and starting life saddled with debt is an okay idea.

Who knew Republicans controlled college towns? Who knew Comrade Kuttner wasn't for generous student loans? Has Comrade Kuttner seen Comrade Sanders at a socialist function? Has Comrade Kuttner heard about the Department of Education budget increases over the last 15 years, 20 years, 30 years?
