Michigan Teen 'overwhelmed' by engagement admits arson : Saying No to An Arranged Marriage

The Detroit Free Press:
A teen from Albania told a judge Wednesday that she set a fire in her home while her parents slept because she didn't want to go through with an arranged marriage.

Arlinda Latifi, a senior at Holt High School, pleaded guilty in Ingham County Circuit Court to second-degree arson, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

As part of a sentence agreement with prosecutors, Latifi, 17, faces a maximum of three years of probation. If she violates that probation, however, she could be sent to a prison for young offenders. Judge Rosemarie Aquilina will sentence her on Nov. 24.....Latifi told Aquilina she was "overwhelmed" by the prospect of getting engaged to a man in Albania who was chosen for her.
Can you name that religion ?
