This McDonald’s employee works next to a school and he says he’s very worried about the future He says every day the young students come into McDonald’s. They’ll have an order that’s like $7, he says they’ll hand him $35 and ask “Is that enough?” He says the students don’t know basic math, and he also says there have very bad behavior issues “Bro, I don't know what they're teaching them in school now, but they ain't teaching them the same stuff I grew up on. Where's the fundamentals? Basic math” “Some of the ways that the kids act is very disturbing.“ This is a nationwide problem - Only 39% of 4th grade students in America are proficient in math This gets worse depending on state - In New Mexico only 23% are proficient in math - In Alaska only 30% are proficient at math - In Oregon, Arkansas, West Virginia and Oklahoma only 31% are proficient at math
