Harvard College has suspended the leading pro-Palestinian student group on its campus, a university spokesperson confirmed Monday.
The group, the Palestine Solidarity Committee, set off a series of cascading crises for the university when it posted a controversial statement on Oct. 7 that many around the world read as justifying the Hamas-led attack on Israel that left more than 1,200 dead and about 250 others kidnapped.
The group then organized a number of protests and demonstrations that contributed to an environment of campus unrest not seen since the Vietnam War era. More than 34,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s retaliatory war in Gaza in the months since the Hamas attack, at least two-thirds of them women and children, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
Harvard must be worried about some donors or something.....
