But when Mr. Trump portrays America’s cities as hellholes of runaway crime and social collapse, what on earth is he talking about? Urban life is one of the things that has gone right with America. In fact, it has gone so right that those of us who remember the bad old days still find it hard to believe.

Paul Krugman hasn't heard of crime in Chicago, Baltimore and other one party paradises . No word yet on whether Paul Krugman thinks high taxes are providing excellent government schools for the masses of urban America. Also , no word yet on when Paul Krugman thinks Chicago, Milwaukee , and Baltimore would get back to their 1950's level of population.
