USA Today has billionaire Bill Gates promoting Common Core:

The Gates Foundation helped fund this process because we believe that stronger standards will help more students live up to their potential.

No word yet on when Bill Gates will stop hiding so much of his net worth in the Gates Foundation to avoid the tax man.
