Chicago Alderman First Convicted Felon to Be Elected to City Council : Armed Robbery OK With Chicago Voters

The Chicago Sun-Times reports on Alderman Walter Burnett:
Burnett is a political protégé of former County Board President George Dunne and Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White who survived a childhood in Cabrini Green and 2.5 years in prison for armed robbery to become the first convicted felon ever elected to the City Council.
If Chicago voters don't mind armed robbery, they certainly can send a "high ranking made member" of the Chicago Mob to City Council for 23 years! Here was town that defended banning handguns for self-defense. Imagine that.
