Rezko Linked Chicago Alderman Gets 28 Months in Bribery Case

The Chicago Tribune reports:
Former Ald. Isaac "Ike" Carothers, once a close political ally of Mayor Richard Daley, was sentenced today to 28 months in federal prison for using his public office to enrich himself.

Carothers told U.S. District Judge Robert Dow he understood "the terrible damage" he inflicted on his family and the city for his illegal conduct. "I am truly sorry," said before Dow handed own the sentence that Carothers had agreed to in an earlier plea agreement.
