Democrats Call For Universal Service

Prominent Democrats are calling for "universal service".Congressman Rahm Emanuel and Bruce Reed have this to say in their new book:

If you forget everything else you read in these pages, please remember this: The Plan starts with you. If your leaders aren't challenging you to do your part, they aren't doing theirs. We need a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us by establishing, for the first time, an ethic of universal citizen service.

In the private sector this would be called kidnapping.Emanuel and Reed don't understand that individuals have no obligation to serve the state.They also don't understand that there is no such thing as a "social contract".Contracts are formal obligations individuals freely engage in.
