Illinois Proposed Law Restricts Buying Cold Medicine

CBS TV Chicago reports Big Brother wants more power in Illinois:
Illinois lawmakers approved new restrictions Thursday on the purchase of medicines that can be used to make methamphetamine.

Under the legislation, people who want to buy Sudafed or certain other cold and sinus medicines would have to show identification and sign a log. People under 18 could not buy medicine containing pseudoephedrine.

"I think it'll prevent people from coming in and buying them because they have to sign for them and especially underage and we should do everything in our power to prevent drugs today," said Wanda Snower, a supporter of the legislation.

The state Senate approved the bill 59-0. The restrictions, approved by lawmakers and just waiting for the governor's signature
This is the same state that has the largest unfunded state pension system in America. You'd think these morons would have better things to do than restrict someone from buying cold medicine. If you look at many members of the Illinois state legislature you'll notice they look rather unhealthy because they are overweight. But,heh they want to manage your health.Amazing.
