Chicago revenue investigator attacked while on the job

Chicago is one of the few places you can't own a handgun unless you are a police officer. So,what's the reaction when a revenue investigator gets physically attacked on the job?:
Revenue Director Bea Reyna-Hickey argued that her investigators are no different than Chicago's unarmed army of health department and building inspectors.

"The city has made a policy decision to not allow the Revenue investigators to carry weapons. We do not feel that it is necessary in the course of their duties," Reyna-Hickey said.

"We have always instructed our investigators not to put themselves in harm's way. They can use their radios to call for police assistance. When there's a large confiscation, they're supposed to immediately contact their supervisor and we'll send people to meet them.
Call the police.
