Detroit bus drivers walk off job, expect City Council to revisit vote

The Detroit Free Press reports:
A union representing DDOT bus drivers is awaiting the outcome of an expected vote today by Detroit City Council before deciding whether to end a surprise walkout that has left some 120,000 riders without bus service, union officials said.

Bus drivers of Amagalmated Transit Union Local 26 reported for work early this morning but have not run scheduled routes since 3:10 a.m. to protest the council's failure to accept an $11-million federal grant to provide security aboard buses.
Collectivist transportation means blackmail. It's time to separate transportation from state.
