Former FBI Agent Refers to Former Assistant Majority Leader of Illinois General Assembly As Tied to The Mob

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
She used to carry a gun in her Gucci.

Well, maybe once.

Retired FBI agent Elaine Corbett Smith, who was credited with helping bring down the Chicago mob during the 1980s, also was known to carry a gun in the pocket of her fur coat.
Her's a quote from her book (page 260) concerning "bagman" James DeLeo who went on to be Assistant Majority Leader of Illinois General Assembly:
Surprisingly, LeFevour's secretary DeLeo was found not guilty in federal court, but he later pleaded guilty to misdemeanor income tax evasion. This is the only federal case against the Mob in which the defendant won.
