Judicial Watch Files Taxpayer Lawsuit against University of California to End In-State Tuition, Grants for Illegal Aliens

Judicial Watch reports:
Judicial Watch announced today that on August 26 2014, it filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court for the State of California, Los Angeles County, seeking an end to an estimated annual $19.6 million in non-resident tuition waivers currently being given to illegal alien students by the University of California (UC) Regents (Earl De Vries v. Regents of the University of California (No. 555614)).

The suit also seeks an end to approximately $4 million annually being awarded to illegal aliens in taxpayer-funded grants and scholarships. The taxpayer lawsuit was filed on behalf of California resident Earl De Vries. Under California law, taxpayers have the right to sue government officials to prevent unlawful expenditures of taxpayer funds and taxpayer-financed resources.
For an American citizen to pay more than a law breaking illegal alien would be denial of equal protection under the law.
