Minimum-Wage Shenanigans In Illinois

The Wall Street Journal reports:
The campaign theme for Democrats in Illinois ought to be "wait until December," which is when they intend to jam through many of their liberal priorities. Chicago's good progressives are playing along, too, by postponing a vote on a local minimum-wage hike until after the election.

A special commission convened by Mayor Rahm Emanuel this week recommended hiking the city's minimum wage to $13 per hour by 2018 from the state's current rate of $8.25. However, the task force suggested delaying the vote until after the November election, when they anticipate lame-duck state legislators will increase Illinois's minimum wage.
The great moments of Cook County Democrats.
