New HHS choice Sylvia Burwell served with Rahm in Clinton WH

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is resigning on Friday, a White House official confirmed on Thursday, with President Barack Obama to tap as her replacement Office of Management and Budget chief Sylvia Mathews Burwell, who served in the Clinton White House with Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Emanuel and Burwell-then known as Sylvia Mathews-- were already in the Clinton administration when, on Dec. 18, 1996, Clinton's incoming new chief of staff, Erskine Bowles, jettisoned some senior staffers to put in place his own team.

"I have set about to build a team -- and I want to stress that word, team -- a team of sharp minds, but not sharp elbows," Bowles said at a White House news conference.

Bowles named as his deputy chiefs of staff John Podesta--the Chicago native now in the Obama White House as a senior advisor and Mathews, who was chief of staff for Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin.
Just a reminder.
