Mobster eyed in $500 Million Art heist seeks mercy from judge

The Boston Herald reports:
A 76-year-old Connecticut mobster eyed, but never charged, in connection with the unsolved 1990 theft of $500 million in masterpieces from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum has asked a federal judge to be merciful and spare him prison when he’s sentenced on drug and weapon charges in Hartford Thursday. Robert “The Cook” Gentile pleaded guilty in November.
