Menino takes on Boston buildings’ energy use

The Boston Globe reports:
Boston Mayor Thomas Menino filed an ordinance Wednesday that would require large and medium sized-buildings to report annual energy and water use as well as greenhouse gas emissions to the city. The Building Energy Reporting and Disclosure ordinance, which awaits approval from the City Council, aims to urge building owners to invest in energy efficient systems and technologies by making the information available to the public online. “Leading by example,” Boston would begin the program this year.
More regulation from Mayor Busybody.
